Verizon interviewing process:

Verizon interviewing process, is such a farce they play with the applicants/candidates. I could never understand when they ask all kinds of irrelevent questions which has nothing to do with the job requirement. Seems like this is a just a game they play when they already know who they are going hire, (their cronies and friends) who may not even qualifiy for the position. Good ol boy network. One OLD FA-T supports another!

I thought Verizon valued culture?
If Verizon valued culture, they would outline specific steps for career progression and role changes. Not, "Hey, you want me to hire you? You gotta be like me first.." Amazon model, no interviews. You meet the steps and requirements you can move into the open role. I mean. Wow - could you imagine?

Veterans of VZ would be less angry if they had some flexibility to move around. I would love tonlearn more positions in this company but I'm blocked at every turn. Retail channel? What is that? Indirect? Never been there? Leadership? Can't get my shot at it. Why the block? Should I just quit? Not sure I'm wanted here. How many failed attempts to move to a new role do we need to see before realizing this company isn't for me? Where is diversity and inclusion? I thought we valued culture. Heck, Elon couldn't get a promotion here because when he sits at an interview he would have talked about the ideas he has for an electric car and electric jet. The hiring manager would look at him like he's and oddball and move to the next candidate. .. so much for diversity and inclusion. If you have a different idea.. keep it to yourself. You gotta be like me.. that's the only way to be successful

Externally the hiring process was one of the easiest and most streamlined I've ever experienced. It was good. For internal it was a bloated disaster and ridiculous.

100%! They already know who they're going to hire, our team just went through this and bingo, exactly as expected. And, we lost so many good people and managers to the latest RIF that didn't have a chance.
Major boys club in our org.

The good ol boy network is fading. You need to be a Patel or such. Have dirty feet and reek of bad food. When Hans leaves and Scampath becomes ceo. Your days are numbered. It will be a curry munchers paradise.

I have interviewed many people for jobs at Verizon. The first thing that I do is paste items from your resume/cv into google. If I get a hit, that is an item I press on.
