Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Is Robin simply Indecisive?

We’ve had so many contradictory messages on RTO, WFH, etc that pretty much all of us have differing understanding. Then there are all of the contradictory emails from other senior leaders and the special carve out rules for some teams and some locations.

The fundamental role of a leader is planning and clear communication of the plan. Is he waffling, thinking out loud via email or just truly confused on our course? I cannot figure it out.

@bywf also doesn't understand what "finished" and "fine" means.

@8dwh

And yet they finished it up just fine without the displacees. Identifying and releasing ineffective employees is called good management.

“Profit would be hire.”

Allow me to guess… University of Phoenix 2 year Associates Grad?

@8vde apparently has never heard of fail over and stay or automated deployment that many of us fired people were working on or planning to work on after we were done migrating from servers built during y2k efforts.

@8vde, profits would have been even hire if they didn't pay me to do nothing for 11 months. The fact that profits were higher than a year ago means nothing. Our "leaders" decided to move operations to india instead of spending money having me and my coworkers eliminate half the work. And you'll see how security is affected when we have our first huge data breach or another hurricane or 9/11 that cripples the tristate area.

Productivity is output per cost.. We cut costs and lost nothing. By definition we are now more productive.

Productivity “hidden in unrealized gains in efficiency and security” is just gobbledygook.

@7ltc, we DID lose productivity but it's hidden in unrealized gains in efficiency and security.
@7bhp, of course your uncle didn't know me personally. But he forced managers to fire productive US employees to be replaced with slave labor from india. Apparently lefties don't truly believe in offering a living wage and all the benefits woksters keep pushing.

How could a division possibly be so overstaffed that 60 people could be displaced with no loss of value or productivity? Our earnings rose without them.. If true (never know here) that Todd actually did that then the overstaffing must have been just out of this world.

@6qie

Todd fired nobody, your managers fired you. Todd doesn’t know your name. If you were displaced during Todd’s tenure as C.E.O. then you really had to stand out as a non performer.

Uncle Todd fired me and 60 of my co-workers in our division of 600 people.

And the verdict is in… draft Todd again. A true leader and a friend to all.

Absolutely not. He's very decisive. He has firmly made timely and firm decisions has a 100% record - he's been wrong every time.

Well, he's a voice of typical corporate double-talk.

Purposely vague is right. But has he ever led anywhere? It doesn’t seem like it. Certainly hasn’t led here.

He’s too busy chatting up interns to focus on running the bank. He won’t last. Poor leader, zero charisma, even less vision.
