Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Looking for tips on how to quiet quit here

How can I do the least amount of work and stay on payroll as long as possible?

I was starry eyed and wanted to build a career here but I am stupid to think that is reality.

Go into the office and walk around with a stuffed binder. And keep an angry impatient look on your face. Make sure LL bosses see you, everyone will think you're very busy.

Just mirror the LL people who are all great at the game of being friendly, using buzzwords, kissing ace, and you will may just find you climb the ladder while you disengage from trying to do a good job.... and learn what technical and other good stuff while you are doing the other stuff.

"Perception is everything grasshopper"

Was told over a decade ago it's not a performance review as much as a perception review.

It's damn true

"That isn't quiet quitting. That is the Ford promotional path"

It's funny because it's true

Su-ks to hear this. I worked hard and was cut. Quit so they don’t have to lay off more people like me.

"You are still to new to realize how Ford drains the life out of you."
We're in agreement here. But, if your life is being drained by your employer then you need to find a new employer.
Sitting in the corner and sulking doesn't do you any good. You've identified the problem (Ford) so go do something constructive rather than making it even worse for yourself.

There is some good tips on this string really useful. Another trick is with webex ..call in, put on mute, do whatever you want , be in listening distance but only to hear your name, once someone calls your name after a question, ask them to repeat the question…then pause for a while..then give answer. Finally check out again till you hear your name again. Works wonders

To the person that said this

“ If you were serious about a career you'd be working on one instead of sulking in the corner like a spoiled child. Grow up and work on a non-Ford career that has a future.”

You must be a new or junior employee. You are still to new to realize how Ford drains the life out of you. Once you see all the unqualified talkers and diversity candidates get promoted you too will feel this way.

Why do you think the company is starting to fail with quality and product sales?

Perception is everything grasshopper.
I did that before I abruptly gave my retirement notice last year.
Promise everything. Be a yes man.

I am quite the opposite. I like to call into webex meetings but stay on mute and not contribute anything to the discussion. I do my best to have others or suppliers lead all technical talk. Another great trick I use us to leave the meeting a good 5 to 10 minutes before it ends to ensure I do not get any assignments.

I have been promoted to LL6 using this strategy so I know it works.

Why do you want to quiet quit and stay on the payroll as long as possible? You sound like someone trying to milk a few more dollars into retirement plan, yet you talk about building a career. Work hard at your job, and work hard at finding a new job.

My favorite tactic is to go into meetings and be one is the loudest, most frequent talkers. But all of my talk leads to work for other people. My goal is to make it look like I was the most active participant in the meeting but come out with zero assignments for myself.
