Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Supervisor Presence Reporting

Not hard to find under "How and Where we Work". Supervisor Presence Reporting Job Aid has link to Power BI supervisor presence report where sup's can monitor compliance for FTO and TW employees. From section 3, "Office Presence Page" in the job aid:

  • Shows the count of employees who were in the office 3+ days per week (FTO)

Presence is counted if an employee swipes their badge. And regardless of where your employee badges in , badge swipes will register at their assigned location. For example, if a Dallas assigned employee swipes their badge in an Atlanta location, it will count as a badge swipe in Dallas, not Atlanta. (Note: Wi-fi and LAN usage will be added soon.)

TW = Once per month

I'm assuming at some point, if it hasn't been mandated already, all sups will be held to some formal compliance with checking this compliance report and taking action as needed.

Hi has there been an update on this? I am wondering if I need to connect to wifi AND have a badge swipe, or if just my badge swipe counts. I visited an office that is not my regular one and they don’t have the wifi here just a badge swipe. Thanks!

For those not in a sales role, it's always about what shows on the reports. Most leaders make all decisions and judgements from reports alone that they have their admin pull and send to them.

Can't begin to tell you how much effort goes into looking good on a report rather than into achieving actual success.

anyone have any details on the LAN/WIFI reporting? accuracy? has anyone seen or have any experience around this? seems like just another layer of micromanagement to use against the employee.

My building has no badge swipe. Its a beautiful thing. Still have to assume they are looking at LAN usage.

And it will be stolen if not by a co-worker or boss to teach you a lesson.

Hey genius, he wasn't suggesting someone do that, just questioning the value of such a report since it's easily gamed.

None of this has any value or meaning. What does have meaning is what people actually get done. If a manager can't determine that, he shouldn't be managing anything.

I am not sure what is the value of this information in 21st century when anybody can "see" anything anywhere. Why you should be concerned about those stupid swipes or Lan/Vpn tracked minutes if you work as your contract states?

Our manager showed us this report last week. It does have some bugs still but they will be using it to track whether each person is 'living their designation'. He also said in addition to badge swipes he is pretty sure they will be recording the time your laptop is logged onto the corporate LAN. Not sure why you couldn't just leave your laptop plugged in at the office all night (unless someone is going to steal it).

That report is not working, shows teleworkers that haven't been in the office as checking in everyday at a building, it's not reliable and leadership knows

Resident troll - please stop with the "needs of the business" garbage. it's the corporate equivalent of "because I said so" and the majority of us know that it's bullsh*t.
