Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Collaboration gaslighting

I was in a meeting yesterday for an hour with a certain MD who's been very much against WFH from the start. Literally nobody in that meeting bought what he was saying. He's not only completely out of touch with the modern workforce and how remote work actually allowed his employees a work life balance, he actually believes we are buying into his lies because everyone is afraid to speak out.

The real problem here at Schwab is that we have to find a way to get work done DESPITE our senior leadership. They are completely out of touch with their employees and simply don't care.

That's 100% true. All the procedural roadblocks that they put up to hinder things, we find ways to get the job done. And man it's getting tiring.

It’s true TB was in the office every day, but he always said it was because it was quieter, he has the super internet and 4-screen setup, and unlimited Diet Coke. ;-) I’ve never heard him annoyed about remote work, heck half of TOS is in Chicago.

Guessing it was TB? Green side MD who has always despised WFH, and was in the office every single day even during the height of Covid when no one was supposed to be in the building.

I'd guess I was in this same meeting (did the MD go on repeatedly about how we should "give Schwab a chance to surprise us"?) Even if it wasn't the same meeting I agree with your points, leadership is entirely out of touch and their attempts to spin this as a positive are nauseating.

What area? I was in two MD meetings last week and both were sympathetic and are planning ways to make this work for everyone. We have shift work in our area and they both were scratching their heads on why we'd make second and third come in to the office when there is nobody there during those hours.
