Look at most of you AVPs and above. Now try to name one that is a leader and deserves the title and pay.

Unpopular opinion, but my AVP, VP and SVP are all awesome. I know many of you hate yours, but I don’t.
My AVP’s over the past 10 years have been some of my favorites.
Ok guys. I’m been craft for a long while. Not in sales. Is 3rd level the director? I have no idea who or what anyone does above our 3rd level.
Nobody talks about them, they don’t talk to us, never seen them before in my life.
I always wonder what they do. Sometimes I feel like this is a pyramid scheme because the people at the top make all the money and those at the bottom are getting yelled at by customers all day. And if it wasn’t for the customers, NONE of us would be here. Seems they take a back seat to the corporate pyramid scheme. Either way, nice to “meet” you guys.
They have PEOPLE SKILLS, why can't any of you understand this?!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcIMIyQnOso&ab_channel=MovieReferences

"big problem is that too many managers fail to step up and take responsibility for their position. Managers at all levels end up endorsing corporate mandates if no action is taken or nothing is said publicly."
Absolutely incorrect! Many of us fight for our people and find out of the box solutions. Sometimes we hit brick walls, but we try. I have offered up my job to save my team in this mess.
@pxd+1narXtpR I think he ate some spicy food one time
McElfresh is who I find truly disappointing. I could almost give Stankey a little bit of a pass as he’s trying to woo Wall Street and the investors. But Jeff has been radio silent for years. What does he even do?
I have more of a problem with the directors and team leads who know absolutely nothing but got in the position because they have a sociopathic personality. I gave them leadership credit for leading cattle to sla-ghter, nothing more.
“ Managers at all levels end up endorsing corporate mandates if no action is taken or nothing is said publicly.”
A director is nothing more than a regional manager over the area managers. Nothing more. At the AVP/VP level it starts to look like a bank with title inflation, but still little in the way of any clout. Above that you more or less have to sell your soul to get there.
My AVP is very good, as is another I work closely with. But they have no power in this situation, they are just high end middle management.
“But they have no power in this situation, they are just high end middle management. You have to go up 2 levels to place the blame on how this situation is being handled.”

I deserve every penny I take from you.

Lol, I couldn’t even name an AVP, but I’m sure none of them are “leaders”.
AT&T is a run down company.
AT&T is a top down run company. AVPs don’t run anything. I know this as I’m an AVP. To take an obvious example, I have no idea what is happening with the RTO (layoffs) exercise. Zero. Upper management tells AVPs nothing.
Start with Stankey and his top level in incompetent cronies and clean house.
There are no leaders. Leaders inspire people to follow them. All we have is mediocre managers, who only know how to bark orders.
There is a leadership void at T. Stankey, Randall and many other senior leaders have run the company into the ground and most, incredibly, still have their jobs. John - we don't need free water, boxed lunches, seeing you get a haircut or eating wings....that's all real cute....we need a leader at the helm to right the ship...you have failed consistently yet continue to make 20-30 million...it's crazy. Time for you to go. You live in an ivory tower and have no idea how your bad decisions / lack of leadership are impacting the lives of so many craft and and thousands of managers.
It's disgraceful. If you had character and integrity you would step down and so would many others. Look in the mirror.
Unfortunately there are very few examples of AT&T leaders who Consistently:
Meet or exceed plan
Grow profits and reveneues consistently
Grow faster than the market / competition
Are first to market with their products and services
Know how to lead and inspire their teams....
Come to think of it....I can't think of anyone that meets above criteria.....and that is a major problem..
If no one is following you, you are just out for a walk
So many are just figureheads that build their own "brand" and have slobbering followers on social media but have very little in terms of measurable accomplishments to show. Leaving aside the C-suite, think of the likes of Anne Chow. Just an utterly useless empty suit windbag that spouted corporatespeak all day.
Struggling with this one… oh yeah, i just thought of one.
