Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The company is falling apart

I remember better years, but I hardly remember any periods that were more chaotic than it is here now. You? The leadership is truly awful.

It’s not just the company. Society as a whole is starting to fall apart.

"It absolutely is not falling apart, that's strictly a figment of your imagination! Sure, it has a few obstacles to hurdle, but falling apart, no way!"

Whistling past the grave yard are we? The debt is horrendous and interest rates are horrendous. Morale is awful. Many projects are deeply threatened by geographic consolidation. I know of quite a few people in my AVP's org that are key to current projects who would be driven away by this ill considered plan. AT&T is on the downward spiral. If Stankey's plan is as successful as they usually are, AT&T is cooked.

This company will be here in next ten years easy. Levers it can pull,

  1. Layoff employees in non hub cities. It is in progress and a great move.
  2. Sell AT&T Mexico
  3. Reduce and eventually if needed eliminate dividends.

I am from legacy AT&T Corp. in 2004 we had 2 layoffs to “pretty ourselves” to be sold — which occurred to SBC in short order.

This is the same vibe.

Stankey and Stephenson couldn't manage a 2-hole outhouse in an Ex-Lax factory if their lives depended on it.

I remember when they just randomly and punitively took vacation away from people. That seems quaint in comparison.

This is usually what happens when the company is gonna go dark (bankruptcy or be sold to another company -- maybe Elon Musk will buy AT&T) then Elon won't need to tell everyone to go to work since Stank already did that.

I have 30 years and have never seen anything this bad.

I’m from a legacy telco. Not ATT. So I wasn’t there when ATT fell apart before.

The megalomaniac, The Stink, thrives on creating chaos and destroying employee lives, ripping off shareholders and pi----g off customers! All the while collecting tens of millions each year for his preverted pleasure!

And the worthless BoD lets this continue year after year. They are just like our gooberment! Worthless POS!

I am embarrassed to be a manager here. I should have left a long time ago.

I guess you didn't go through the crumbling of the old AT&T.

This one is not there yet but it's heading that way.
