Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This place has become a mess

I'm tired of this place.
What happened to professionalism here?
I am surrounded by mediocrities that no one knows exactly how they got promoted.

The new titles are a joke. I watch the most ridiculously lazy and stupid people now add VP to their signature list.

Did these mediocrities simply fall from space and anybody knows exactly how they surrounded us?.

How did they get promoted if they don't what they're doing, you ask? HR calls it "equity".

Didn't you hear? Where all marxists now! Even bank executives!

If you live near NYC, there is NO reason to work at BNYM unless you're C-level. You will undoubtably make more somewhere else and in the case of my experience and several others, a lot more.

My new place can be a mess at times, too, but I'm happy to deal with that if I get paid a lot more.

Ask yourself - what has BNYM done for you? On the topic of benefits, those have been slowly getting decreased over the quarters. What about meaningful process improvements? Is the day to day a little easier? Are the systems better? Probably not.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of my motivation came from trying to make meaningful process improvements everyday, but all of that can be quashed in a few days by ineffective and clueless management. BNYM has no shortage of that.

That because we have a bunch of id--ts at the top who have no clue about 90% of the processes being done at this place. They make decisions blindly and all these see if cost savings to stuff their pockets regardless what impact their is.
