Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Philippines and Slovakia offices

Somebody here mentioned the closing of offices in Philippines and Slovakia. Could you provide more info pleas? Sadly, this board is only one real communication platform for T employees, that's odd but it works. Thx in advance.

Jobs yes, but solely for automation (of course) and for U-verse call center, where nobody wants to work except foreign students as a temporary job.

Weird--Slovakia has almost 2 dozen job openings, mostly engineers. I don't think that indicates closure.

Slovakia RTO was applied in 9/22. I could imagine just some type of reduction of office space, but not closing.

I can’t speak to office closings, but there has been confirmed “surplus” activity in the Philippines. It has also been confirmed that the RTO philosophy will be applied to the Slovakia offices but it will take place in later phases of the project.

Why would leadership close the centers that are 8 - 12 cents on the dollar where we have minimum quality standards and no concerns to help customers? Please don’t start me with the language barrier customers complain about. It’s perfect for the suits above reality where enlarging ones bonus in their primary focus. I just shake my head when we’re on calls with them as our higher level support and they don’t have a clue.
