This is a group (happens to be six people, all L2s) under the same EVP that I work with closely. This seems strange and if I get more info, I'll post it, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
In May this group was told that RTO/Dallas was coming, like many of us. They did not get anything in writing nor did they submit anything to the company stating a decision, as there was no decision to make. But a few of them told their director that they'd probably not move if it came to it. Their director isn't a bad guy so nobody believes he did anything underhanded.
But today they were told by the director that they'd be receiving surplus notifications on June 22nd. There's no option to move, and the director was not aware that a surplus was declared. He found out and told them as soon as he knew.
I'm not saying surplus is unexpected, but this specific situation seems very strange to me. Thought I'd post.
