Selfishly just concentrate on VZ. How can this vessel, big ship, get it right, for a textbook turnaround story?

No need to be concerned about the entirety of the planet nor universe.

The US only needs to worry about the US and if globalization helps and works then prosper from the ties to those countries. Thus, the ties with those countries such as India help. Capitalism has its flaws, but it is not going to be averted.

The USA is supposed to be the antidote to the rest of the world which is lazy and unwilling to stand up for itself or feed itself.

As you are aware, most of the free world does more with less. And just look around which of the US corporations are embracing the former South-East Asia British Colony. Leading US corporations, surpassing, which do not include VZ at the top of the list.

Also, look around how many of these larger US corporations are not boneheaded to have selected the current VZ CEO. And these CEOs have a blood lineage from where and the wherewithal of consanguinity.

Lastly, globalization is universal and not just pinpointed to a particular country which ended up with a less than palatable experience from your perspective which hopefully is objective.

@4sfu+1nf6mNjJ I keep hearing this trash talk but it never seems to end up in profits.

Only Americans really possess 'adapt, improvise and overcome' as a way of life. Or used to be.

As the supposed 'over educated' rest of the world is less free, less tolerant, and less able to really invent and market new products that grow things. That South Asian British ostensibly erudite accent no longer provides the camouflage that it once did.

With respect to IT I would rather have an American fix my stuff regardless of their native origin. That way I know that it is fixed and not fictionally fixed.

If you work within VZ IT, why dont you seek out a verification and clarification?? Where are you located within either of the two IT VZ hubs, due to GTE (fe--s), Temple Terrace, Tampa, FL or Dallas, TX, or Ashburn, VA, resulting from the formerly MCI fe--s.

Disagree. Generalizing, the US has and continues to be complacent and increasingly less educated. Therefore, the rest of the world will surpass the USA within a stretch of time. Globalization allows the USA to maintain superiority within the world and to maintain its status quo until botched due to complacency.

There is nothing economically efficient about globalism besides corruption, and dividing and conquering populations. While the unions may have gotten out of control at one point, the lack of strong unions has also frozen the pay and benefits of management while increasing the gains of the top 5 percent, and there is a HUGE pay gap between them and you, although they provide no discernable return for their excesses in compensation.

By American for Americans. The Globalists and much of the world have been jealous of our wealth and freedoms for decades and have sought to bring us under their collective control. Fortunately, that is what our Constitution protects against. It is time to push back and get these globalists out our board rooms and executive offices!

Global capitalism. Many US corporations are offshoring the typical, low-level and mid-level, white-collar jobs overseas to include India. These US jobs, except, within the Services industry on US soil, are just too expensive to maintain US corporate profits.

Furthermore, the US is a very protective society to workers and as/if when affiliated with their respective labor unions, as-is with Verizon's union = NO LAYOFF CLAUSE!!!

Wall $treet's paramount need supports capitalism, free-markets, efficiency, productivity, and an enriched quality-of-life [red, white, and blue].

This issue with VZ is that it just has very poor C-Suite leadership, EVPs, and SVPs. How can VZ, after years of being the #1 rated network, relinquish that top spot, due to poor strategy, leadership, and vision? Who is/are responsible for the network debacle who must be held accountable? Everyone is expendable and if not, that is nepotism.

This is a really, really, bad idea, particularly for a company that does a lot of national security work for the Federal Government. There really has been some manner of the globalist takedown of this company, where Americans are pushed out of their jobs in order to send them to India, despite the vast, vast majority of all customers living in the USA. There is something very wrong here. Like a war on the west.

Ok, released by corporate due to bad behavior. However, but each of these, from Director Levels to EVPs, were all backfilled. Why?

This timeline was after the previous big RIF, INFY outsourcing, and INFY offshoring. But unthinkable, why backfill these unnecessary needed management positions?

Regardless of how many onshore employees vs. Verizon India (VDSI) vs offshore contactors in IT, I think we can all agree that access to VZ sensitive data by offshore personnel has been abused for years. Clean rooms, masked data, etc, what a joke. If the Feds or EU ever investigated Verizon's practices, we would incur the biggest fine ever.

FALSE: how is that characterized as being outsourced. Seemingly, just a disgruntled employee.

Next Step(s): submit complaints to the VZ corporate ombudsman and then also to the US Government.

@2lzt

TRUE: 90% of "workers" in VZ IT/GTS are Indian. Whether VZ execs/managers, onshore h1b contractors or offshore (vz india and offshore indian contractors).

There should be an investigation into all the VZ Indian contractors listed in the corporate directory as "onshore". Particularly if they are working on systems that are restricted to onshore access only. I know that several of the Indian contractors I worked with over the years who claimed to be onshore were not. Easy to tell by conference calls and the server logs (times they were logged in).

Additionally the US gov should really do an audit of VZ systems in India. See if VZ sensitive data was really masked or not (most was not).

FALSE: 90% of IT is already outsourced to India. The 10% left are just diversity tokens.

If you were gainfully employed within VZ's IT you would be well aware that there is currently many more employees employed on US soil within the continental US.

The employment laws as enforced within India are completely a different reality. The Indian employment laws as enforced are not sympathetic when contrasting the softer US employment laws, enforcement, grievances, affirmative action, and arbitration.

India does not recognize labour/craft unions.

A couple years ago VZ IT also had a high priority project to “optimize” their “delivery model” and get rid of ALL IT vendors except for 2. Guess what country the 2 chosen vendors were from? India of course!!!

The VZ Execs from India do not believe that US laws apply to them. Particularly the laws regarding EEO, discrimination and conflict of interest.

This CEO's last hooray. But I thought for sure his time had expired when the subscriber losses were not reversed for the last quarter.

Then all the releases of the high level, EVPs, executives, before the end of this current quarter.

Next, to tell the truth, the telling tale, the upcoming VZ earning's report.

Before being fired, the last hooray is simply to destroy this company by disbanding and all the RIFs.

No money in any other coffers, except for payroll + 401k, the insurmountable debt load, and corporate dividends. And, yes, the union pension pot contributions.

No new hiring. No employee promotions.

Hearing a big, and targeted RIF is forthcoming. How enriched the RIF is still to be determined? Wall $treet does not like what is being computed and declared in terms of the payouts.

Foremost, need to pay the shareholders their quarterly corporate dividend.
