Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Has anyone heard of more upcoming rifs in CMO?

Heard through the grapevine there could be more rifs. Morale is very low and everyone seems to be on high alert.

Interesting they actually filed a WARN notice instead of just giving them 60 days in payroll. Must need those savings fast.

Let's be realistic. Diego definitely played favorites with what he valued, with certain teams neglected, while he kept massively bloated staffs in others. The latter teams (read: brand, marketing communications) are no longer sacred cows, and they're still realistically way overstaffed.

Yup 183 people impacted today in NJ. Verizon filed a WARN today, here is the link to the PDF from the NJ Dept of Labor. I wish these 183 well

The Swedish Chef continues to mangle the recipes and set fire to the kitchen and we’re surprised? Beaker would be a more competent chairperson.

What VZ assets can be sold, if any? Any palatable assets by an acquirer? Previously, VZ has sold all non-strategic assets for less then the going market value or even far less than what VZ paid for these assets when, bone-headely, purchased.

In a position of weakness, what can be sold, and then for pennies on the dollar!!!! VZ has has no strategic assets to be monetized by an acquirer. And a rapidly diminishing tally of customers. And who would be a buyer when there is the labour/craft unions which nobody seeks to inherit.

Saying “there could be more RIFs” is like saying the S&P 500 could go up or down in the next few months. The answer is yes in this environment but no one knows the magnitude.

Why is the current CEO continue to be gainfully employed as well the cronies assigned key roles?

Destroyed in an understatement. Verizon is going into bankruptcy.
