Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I hate RTO. But here’s how we can deal with it.

I know leadership is watching the site.

So I want to let you know that until RTO is repealed - my colleagues and I have committed to doing the minimal work.

We WON’T take early morning meetings.

We WON’T help with offshoring or training India.

We WON’T go above and beyond or work a single minute over 5pm!

Until you repeal your ridiculous location strategy and hub policy - my coworkers and I will happily do nothing.

I thought everyone was considering commute time part of their workday. I work 8 to 5 - on days I WFH, that means I’m logged in at 8 and off at 5. On days I have to waste time commuting and looking for a place to park, that means I’m pulling out of the garage at 8 and pulling back in at 5. In a department of 1200, I don’t know anyone that’s putting in a full 8 hours on office days, and that includes the managers and senior leaders.

Being in the office only allowed the people that want to har----ss you an opportunity to. Also, people that don't know how to do things magically "find" you & won't leave you alone until you help them. Then they st_b you in the back.

Charlie has 2 more years tops. If the cap gets lifted, he moves on as a "successful turn around CEO". If he can't get the cap lifted, the pressure from investors to move on will be too great. Either way he's a short termer and on the way out.

@kep Hey genius, it isn’t our job to train our replacements. We have existing procedures. If they have good reading comprehension, I suggest you decision makers toss them a F’ing link to said procedures. I double-dog dare you to “find me” because, NEWS FLASH, it’s practically ALL of us. Additionally, you’re lucky we don’t sabotage these mo--ns and cause harm to the company. So be a little nicer before we sick some hackers on the job or ramp up some union conversations just to spite “the man” if you could even call Charlie that. Mic drop. 🎤

Meh, Charlie will be gone eventually. In my career here, I've been through the following CEOs:

Richard Kovacevich, 1998-2007
John Stumpf, 2007-2016
Timothy J. Sloan, 2016-2019

  1. Allen Parker (Interim), 2019-2019

Charles Scharf, 2019-present (feels like an eternity)

The longest any CEO has been here in the modern era is Cooley, at 12 years:

Richard P. Cooley, 1966-1978

Charlie MIGHT have 5 more years left in him, but I'm hoping I can outlast him. But if I'm let go, it won't be due to performance...

Anyone who's been in an office in the last year knows that in person collaboration is like a unicorn. Teams and customers are simply to distributed. Just grab a cup of coffee and stand in a place where you can overlook your local cube farm. No one is really talking to anyone in the same room, they're all on the phone/online meetings or just keeping their heads down and doing their work. In their defense, their work probably has nothing to do with what the people around them are doing. This is what happens when you have open seating. It's absolutely a collaboration/trust/comfort ki-ler. No one is invested, no one is communicating. CPG and HY need to pull their heads out of their A before it's too late because the system they have devised is a complete failure that is not in touch with reality in any way.

My work is negatively impacted by RTO. It's a complete waste of time and reduces my availability. Nothing in my job description or duties is office related, and though it's a hub, there's not a single person in my group at my assigned office. I've been going in for no reason for over a year now and there has been absolutely no positive benefit. None. I'm trying to work. If the mo--ns in Hudson Yards and their boot lickinh toadies will get the he-l out of my way, that's what I'll do. Alternatively, if they don't care about production or efficiency, why should I?

I think it’s these whiners causing much of the issues at WF. Grow up and do your job or move on and keep living in your parents’ basement.

I have a different idea, how about the worthless underperforming CEO that got here 5 minutes ago leave? I was here first and I loved my job until that temporary POS came along. Eventually he'll be flushed and this company can truly start to recover.

Hey whoever posted that threat about finding us! No you won’t. We have not worked since you started swinging the ax on our coworkers and shoving our jobs to India. You will NEVER catch us no matter how you try. FRTO. F Wells Fargo. F Charlie. You sc--w us and we sc--w you. Comprende POS?

if your still out performing your group then you aren't slacking well enough. I also hired and trained my India team years ago and then keep retraining them due to yearly attritiom and I'm still here

They haven’t caught me yet, I’ve been slacking off since January yet still out produce many in my dept.
I have a feeling my whole department stopped working.

I’ve been asked to train our team in India and I refused.
They have their own senior managers there, why should I have to tell them the basics?
I hope I’m with Wells long enough to see this fail, but doubt it since there are a lot of remote jobs out there with my skill set.

Agreed——especially about not training your replacements in India or doing anything above and beyond. This point has been emphasized again and again on this site but can’t be said enough….THERE IS POWER IN NUMBERS. Don’t be a sheep.
