Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Posts indicate RTO letters have been made available to managers to be released to individuals

Anyone have details on when managers will release these to individuals? Now that they appear to be queued up, will it be a coordinated release to all impacted employees by a specific date versus the end of month like we had been hearing?

Received my RTO letter. It is sketchy. It says that I MAY receive official notification of the movement of my job to the hub. I’m waive 2. So don’t get excited and make any plans yet. Most likely there will more layoffs before anybody gets the spot in the hub. They think you have to earn it and be grateful when you get the opportunity to relocate on your own dime and uproot your life.

“There isn't any mention about 6/22, 6/25 or whatever six-slash except 6/30.”

Yes there is, specifically on the ATS SP site. Our FAQ doc states “by June 22nd” we would be told our RTO designations and locations. But… it didn’t happen. Go figure.

Saw mine in Teams call with boss today. 9/5 begins my 97 mile commute each way 3x a week. Any backfill for my role will be in Dallas and my anticipated location in about 18 months is Dallas. If before then I want to move to any of the 4 future locations, boss said that would be okay. My Stinky Stanky Voodoo Doll is all prickly.

"I heard the people who set up the letter delivery system or whatever screwed something up so they are trickling out very slowly. My manager screenshared mine so I've seen it. They are coming. I'd expect they'd all get delivered over the weekend but I can't say for sure."

Same experience here. My manager got on a teams call with me and screen shared "the letter", but I never received an actual email.

" I'd expect they'd all get delivered over the weekend but I can't say for sure. "

I wrote that but forgot to add, your manager has to release it first. So if your manager is out of the office you won't get it yet.

the RTO letters are being sent via the same HR system that is used for EoY bonuses starting today. If your supervisor is on vacation, his or her boss in the chain of command can release the letters to you or they will automatically be released on 6/30 if everyone is on vacation.

There isn't any mention about 6/22, 6/25 or whatever six-slash except 6/30.

The statement below suggests it could be any day
𝗕𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬:: Business units will communicate details to their organizations.

RTO is perfect example how T can’t deliver anything. Upper leaderhip is useless. Shame of them. No word or follow up with lower lever. Total ignorance.

My manager is on vacation this week and next, so I may have my letter sitting in his inbox. Not her fault, but that makes it no less suspenseful.

Has anyone outside the hubs (i.e. required relocation or long-distance travel to hub) received anything in writing with specifics on when they have to be in the hub office or off-payroll deadlines?

I asked a supervisor that I know (not my supervisor) about this yesterday - he said that he has a few people who are being asked to move and they've known for a while now, and that he's already discussed it with them. Are there supervisors out there that aren't discussing this with their people ahead of time, just waiting to spring a letter on them?

“ In Arroyo org only those in Hubs will have info in June. The rest have to wait until August for any info at all.”

Wow… just when you think the mind games will be over…. Most startups are managed better than this.

“ Details on when you identify when/if you move was not included.”

Was this posted by a manager who has reviewed the letters? And what does “ Details on when you identify ” mean?

What else could the letter possibly say except where/when to report to work?

Your manager will schedule a 1:1 with you by 6/30 and review the letter similar to YTR. Good luck everyone.
