Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Change your priorities

Honestly, when I see how much some of you are working and trying, it confuses the heck out of me. Haven't you learned by now that the only thing you're going to get at Verizon for hard work is more to do? Change your priorities, focus on your family/life, and do as little as you can. You'll see no change in your career progression and your life will be ten times better.

I enjoy the job I do meeting real people with real problems and giving options and solutions every day. Sometimes the technology is maddening and it comes down to people in the end. We do the right thing and stuff sorts out. That said I have already found a federal job I am going through a hiring process for and looking at state jobs. J love the team I work with and all we do against all odds. I get to use my brain and heart to truly help people every day for very low pay. The new jobs pay more not near as challenging or mind sharpening.

"VZ is growing in India or east Europe but not onshore"

This is nonsense! VZ had no future in either place no matter how hard the tried to de-Americanize the company. The latest is to ki-l customer service, just like everywhere outside the USA. This is also why these people do not understand the concept of "tipping".

The tide is turning once again and most Americans are realizing the Woke means broke and the destruction of American life. This is why the globalist companies have also been so hardcore against the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the US Constitution and why they hide behind Veterans to push their agenda.

The party is over for Hans. Scampath and Blackrock. Before long Verizon will once again be a telecom company and not a woke factory.

Regardless whether you are committed or not, the company is dying in the US, low level management trying to keep their pay check till they find a better job or they retire, higher management doing their best to automate or outsource our jobs, VZ is growing in India or east Europe but not onshore, so if you are up to speed with needed skills then leave, also if you did not hit 50 also leave otherwise it will be much harder later, they are replacing onshore for sure because we are expensive , and the customers are not willing to pay for higher internet bills. Most of the tools and technologies we are using is not used any where BTW.

working hard or working less is not how we got to the botton of the toetom pole. Its all the bad products,GO90,HUM etc bad acquisitions ,MCI,AOL,YAHOO,BUYING THE 50% STOCK FROM VONAFONE,selling the 14 state's of our footprint AND ALL THE BILLIONS SPENT ON BUYING THE WRONG SPECTRUM FOR 5G.The reg wireless and wireline worker does not make that decision neither does the 1 level ,2nd level 3rd and 5th make those decisions. So hard worker's or not did not cause the fall of this company.itsthe c-suite and the board to blame. If this place goes belly up they stil get there golden parachutes and the rest of the reg white and blue coller workers get screwed in the end.. so stop blaming each other ,we all just work here and you are just a number thats all .

Working hard to find a job with a better company while doing the bare minimum as an employee at Verizon.

Some of us actually enjoy a hard day's work, networking, and climbing the corporate ladder. You post shows who you are and what you value. There is a cost to upward mobility. Not saying it is right but if you were never fully committed then that's the reason you stayed stagnant, grew mold, and became bitter. The key is to build your brand and bring more value than just work. Anyone can do work, what are the intangibles that make you, you. Choose to be happy and remember that your reality is determined by the choices you make every day. Good luck in life.

Remember. Your only a number here. They don’t care about you, your family and your well being. So what’s right for you and your family. Do your job and that’s it. They days of getting praise for your work is over. Do you job and log out and live your life. Don’t look back and go why did I work all these extra hours for what?

I agree with the poster. Strive for a “leading” and it only benefits the company. Give VZ 50% and make yourself the priority.

Working hard is a behavior. It speaks on who you are and the person you want to become with or without Verizon. Doing the bare minimum is the problem in todays world. This comment literally made me cringe.
