Ford of Canada gives 1 month pay for every year of service to a maximum of 24 months
@1ycm. Ignore the bitter HR employees in this post. The world is way bigger than Ford and anyone who leaves will have way bigger opportunities waiting for them.
With out a WARN notice Ford will pay you a least 30 days and 30 days health care.
Thats how the get around an offical notice. You are still on the payroll for the minium WARN notice period
@1seg. You are NOT awesome. You are NOT amazing and so far as what you deserve, I believe the World owes you nothing.
From a professional external career coach:
- Use this time now to update your resume - in the next 24 hours.
- Then copy paste it into your LinkedIn
- If you need resume help, search for your role on LinkedIn to get ideas on how to word your resume
- Then carve out time to search for jobs that match your profile
- Apply for them. Apply for at least 20.
- Keep a list of who you’ve applied to and if you’ve received a phone screen or interview.
- Breath. You will be OK. You are awesome. You will find your next role. There are many companies outside of Ford that are hiring.
- Apply for jobs every day.
- You will find your next great role because you are amazing and you deserve a great company that recognizes your talent and knows how to properly run their company to prevent this treatment of employees.
- Keep posting for jobs every day.
- You will succeed.
Just go to HR online or what ever it is called and search for SIRP - you will find the information need on the entire program, include the severance pay buckets.
I was SIRP last year, I had in over 20 years and got 9 months, the max.
When I was let go my 19 years got me five months severance. If I remember correctly 20 years would have given me nine months. I’m no longer at Ford so I can’t speak to the severance that will be offered this time around.
Wait. I thought 20 years and over received 9 months of severance…so 19 years of service would receive 8 months of severance, am I wrong?
When I was let go it varied based on years of service. I had been with Ford for 19 years and received five month’s severance pay along with five months medical benefits. I was required to sign away my rights to sue in order to receive the severance.
It was based on years of service. Starting at 30 days and topping out at 9 months.
