I don't want to spend any more sleepless nights. If layoffs will happen, let them happen tomorrow, and let's move on. I find the wait much worse than anything else. And it seems that's all we've been doing for the last couple of years, waiting for more layoffs to happen. Sometimes I wonder if this will ever end or if this is our new normal.

Hey, you forgot one! I was SIRP’d in April, 2022 as were 499 other people!
This is the new norm. Every year since 2017 there has been efforts to reduce the salaried employees.

There are also small firings going on in specific departments throughout the year. So toxic!
I think this is exactly the new norm. Layoffs every year, with no reasonable assurance of job stability even with strong performance. This is the new world we live in. Survive for 6 months/ a year at a time and then see how things go. Do what is best for yourself.
Ford has a decades long history of mass layoffs every few years - they’re just becoming more frequent now. No one is immune. Many of those let go last year were top achievers. Don’t work at Ford with any expectation you will be there long term.
I just hope I make it out alive on this round.

I know. It’s very stressful. What the “Ford Family” does to their employees is demoralizing and very unhealthy. Here I sit, just woke up after sleeping for a couple of hours, wondering whether I will still have a job in the next 12 hours, or Tuesday, .. It’s going to be a long day and week for sure either way. No sleep, spending all day worried about whether I’m next instead of getting things done, upset as I see those around me getting cut (again).
