Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Focus on looking for a new job

It's easy to say that everyone should focus on looking for new offers rather than thinking about whether and when you will lose your job here, however, stress and anxiety are high, so it's not so easy to do in practice. How do you handle this tense atmosphere?

Rely on facts, not emotion. You cannot take it personally - getting let go- or NOT, is not a reflection of your value or worth. It’s like Thanos snapping his fingers- those who go aren’t necessarily any worse than those who stay. If Ford knew what they were doing and if upper management was competent, they wouldn’t need these layoffs, would they? It's about their failures, not yours. You would be better off not being on this sinking, incompetent ship.

Finding a new job is now your full time job. Cliche but oh so true.

@OP First, make sure your finances are solid. Then really believe that Ford doesn't care about you, and that you'll be out of the job soon. Update your resume and start the search, while working just enough until the next position appears.

Ford is all about sending jobs to LCC ‘s and H1B’s here. Customers need to buy Toyotas and stop buying cr-p from Ford. It’s just going to get worse
