Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Sorry but... What 'benefits'?

Crazy how our company touts benefits for employees that are wonderful on the surface, but beneath all the hyperlinks and forms is a sea of red tape that makes it difficult, if not impossible to ACTUALLY benefit from them... Childcare reimbursement? More like how many times are you willing to resubmit a request before you tire yourself out and just don't care anymore. Just pay us more and get rid of these benefit farces.

From Page II of the employee handbook, The Bank clearly outlines the pure hostility it holds towards their own employees. Big reality check once you actually look at the game they're playing! My career is dead but I will make sure the last chapter of it is dedicated to the power of the people!

"This handbook supersedes and replaces any prior summaries, communications, policies, rules, practices, standards, and/or guidelines to the contrary whether written or or-l, including, but not limited to, the policies, work and life programs, leaves of absence programs and Workers' Compensation overview discussed in the BoA Employee Handbook"

"The provisions of this Handbook do NOT establish enforceable employee rights, contractual or otherwise, and they do not establish an employment relationship enforceable by employees. The provisions are not promises, they are subject to change without any notice and are subject to management's discretion in their application. Nothing in this handbook or any other BoA publication, policy, or guideline shall interfere with or limit in any way the right of the company to terminate any employee's employment without cause or notice at any time, confer upon any employee any right to continue in the employ of the company, or change an employee's existing at-will employee status. Employees remain employed at will, and the at-will employment relationship can be changed only by an authorized company representative in writing.

There's always at least one naysayer in all of these threads so to the one saying "it's not that hard", I'm glad that your personal experience hasn't yet yielded you the same results as many people in the company, but just so you know, benefits and resources continue to add more and more stipulations to utilizing the these benefits that make it more feasible to meet the cost of living since our pay doesn't, so I would advise that if you're oh so lucky to not be scraping by trying to make ends meet and also playing around with these ridiculous rules, just keep it to yourself.

Ummm what other benefits are you expecting?? Do you think other companies give you different benefits??? The childcare reimbursement isn't that hard. Talk about an exaggeration, ge-z.

I got a 5% raise in 2021 for Exceeds Expectations and it put my total comp over $100k. The added costs of moving to the the higher cost tier of the family healthcare plan made my take home pay LOWER in 2022 and this year.

All the "benefits" they tout - except medical, dental, vision - are worthless and not even applicable to most people.

They offer them for headlines and fake magazine surveys knowing that they don't actually have to pay out very many claims.

None of the cr-p they offer, except medical, applies to most of us.

But we are paying with increased employee premiums.
