Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Does anyone expect anything other than chaos

For the foreseeable future? After all these layoffs and terminations and people just waking away then what? There has to be massive revenue and expense leakage when you do something so haphazardly. It seems like every big decision Stankey has the controls on leads to tens of billions in losses. It's like guaranteed this will cost a fortune and I don't see the remaining employees raising their hands to pick up the slack.

The same thing that happened the last time we played this game ( Collaboration Zones ) will happen again.

We'll end up losing an awful lot of very skilled people working in areas of the business that very few others, if any, even understand. Some folks like to think we're all easily replaced but show me the college grad who not only understands X25, Frame Relay, and other cutting edge tech from the 70's and 80s, but is willing to work on such outdated technology. Yes, it needs to be replaced. No, the company isn't willing to spend the money to do it. ( In the nine digit range at least )

The company will then realize they f'd up and try to farm that work out to other groups who haven't yet been laid off ( again ) or use it as an excuse to hire more contractors they think we're going to train. lol

The only way to clean the AT&T house is to take the "Stink" out of the C-suite.

Things do seem very accelerated. Truly a sign of desperation. A lot of these changes would have been more effective if implemented gradually. COVID seemed to delay the immediate need to slash.
