Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Nothing Burger

I am here at work in person and nothing. It's quiet. Managers calendars have nothing on them this entire week. Everyone here in the building obviously are RTO and we are good. False alarm as per usual.

Our leadership will let us know if and when there will be resource reductions. Relax.

Ignore the OP, who is clearly an HR bot.

It's coming.......

It’s Monday morning - give it time. When I was SIRPed last year, the meeting notice came on a Tuesday for the next day with my LL4. Told that Wed that Friday was my last day, then after the meeting I got the SIRP paperwork.

Plus you need to realize not all areas will be hit simultaneously, so this could drag out a couple of weeks or more. It all really depends on the number. However, since it was leaked the the news, especially the Free Press, you can count on something happening.

Let me ask OP something; even if you area and/or you are not hit this time, how much longer do you want to put yourself through the mess? Sure, the job market is tough, but you still should be looking anyway. There is not a prize for being the last one off the Titanic.

@jrv

Then stealth cuts will take place, in May both Agency and Direct were cut. Real quiet.. Just like a dr-g addict sneaking dr-gs, the company will find a way to make sneaky cuts.

The prediction was that the layoffs would be announced today and they they would actually begin tomorrow.

Look in the discussions here from last week.

It’s possible that Ford is getting some pushback from State and Federal politicians. The narrative is “The economy is fine! Everything is fine!” A big company like Ford laying off 1000s looks very bad for the administration. So maybe they DID have plans but after they were leaked, management is getting calls from Senators.

Those calendar appointments don't show up until the last moment, like the night before. It will be scheduled for 15 minutes and include only you and your direct supervisor.

Literally three threads down,
"Friday was my last day!
It was all of a sudden notice given by my agency manger. I have been working at ford since 2 and half years.."

Agency cuts started back in March, and cuts will continue for some time in the future.

We don't have leadership. That would imply the people in charge are leaders.

There's a big difference between a leader, and a supervisor/manager/director, etc.

Being a follower, with a high school mentality, in a position of authority does not make a person a leader.

A true leader is a servant first. One who helps you succeed.

This is a straight lie and very transparent. Managers' calendars are always booked up with or without a mass casualty week. Agency cuts started last week. You are incredibly stupid to think we are stupid.

Nice try HR. If you don’t want sites like this to exist or rumors to proliferate, maybe tell Jimmy CarCar and his team of sycophants to keep his comments to the country club and not the WSJ.

I appreciate the first-hand observation, but I just don't trust them.
