First they came for the DEI colleagues
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a DEI colleague
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

I can't even begin to comprehend the vast ignorance of the OP's statement. It's like being deliberately stupid.

We hope that the well known deadwood is cleared out during every head-count reduction, but it never happens. Remember "A" class players hire other "A" class players, and "B" class hires "C" class (at best!)

Employees should be judged solely by what they do. Employers should be color blind and gender neutral. Yes I know this is a radical idea.

Hopefully ALL of that deadwood gets cut.

10 years at Ford - I can tell you without a doubt that women, over 50, and people of color are laid off disproportionally BY FAR.

expect layoffs in all age/race/gender groups before the cuts, dozens of lawyers are reviewing every legal aspect making sure no one can sue them for any kind of discrimination, so it needs to be a mix.

I hope not!

Jim Farley said that Ford is way behind our competitors when it comes to DEI.

Omg DEI is the life blood of the company. Without them we would never realize the profits this company has had. Just look at how the stock price has increased since management has put a priority on this topic. You can see the direct correlation it has had on revenue, profitability, and quality…then blame the failings on the company on the groups you want to push out….see management is easy….say what the management in power wants to hear and it becomes reality….will it into reality…and always have a scapegoat ready!!!!!

Weird that you're using this as an opportunity to lash out at your non-white coworkers who are just as scared about their jobs as you are right now (and many of whom I know personally have already been laid off), rather than directing your critique towards the C-suite folks who are lining their pockets as we all sweat.

DEI colleagues are untouchable as a special class. Most will receive promotions as others are dismissed.
