Thread regarding Ford layoffs

From the news: “Ford has declined to comment on the number of positions being cut“

WHY???

If the number is low, then I can mentally ease up and go about my daily work.

If the number is high, then I am mentally prepared, and take it like anything else in life.

Why treat us like children and keep information away from us? This is mental torture. How many of us have had hard time sleeping at night since last Thursday when the news broke?

HR and PR: please take this concern to your leadership. We all know that everyone is scared of JF. We know he is a bully in WHQ, but someone needs to tell him the truth.

The reason why is "hide in plain site." Its the news cycle. Its PR. Its avoid tainting sales. The announcement is on top of the Ford sponsored Detroit fireworks. By hiding the number, the digits, the media has a limited "sound bite." Social media search results are accumulative-exponential. More clicks generates more clicks. "Ford Announces Layoff Plans" gets less attention than "Ford Layoffs 3000 Employees." More clicks on Fireworks. Search Ford June 26 and its the most popular.

Ford wants to down play and hide the massive firing reduction figures to keep its corporate image positive in the public spotlight. The number is >7,000 heads terminated in USA. And they don’t give a rats a$$$ about employees as we are a high cost expense to them just ask JF - read his words documented in previous media reports about 25% waste.

They don’t care. They laugh about it in their cliques. During the layoffs last year, they were drunk at whatever high-society party they were at and they couldn’t control their mouths. It was basically a joke to them that a few thousand people’s lives were about to be turned upside down.

Honestly, what difference does knowing the actual number really make ? If only 10 people are let go and you are one of those ten your world is still temporarily wrecked. Just go about your day and if you get tapped then just take it from there. Nobody at Ford should be shocked by anything at this point. This company is going to continue in reducing headcount this year and next year as well. So it’s not a matter of if it’s going to happen but when. The sooner we all understand that the better.
