Thread regarding Ford layoffs

My good friend was let go this morning

He has 3 Kids! Sending his job to Mexico!
I will not buy a new FORD until last day of my life!
I swear on my dad's grave!

@1dwv+1nk9XgUO - no, I think the OP is implying that s/he has a family to feed not just one person. Same saying goes when someone dies and there is young family dependent on him/her. It is no less tragic if that person didn’t have a family to feed, just the additional challenges.

Why does it matter if someone has 3 kids? Are you saying that child free people are more disposable?

You won't buy one, because they're to darn expensive and not worth it!

I got the ax back in '08. I haven't bought a ford since. One family member has bought a ford since then, but at least now I do not have to hear about all of the vehicle problems!

They can have them all back - my mortgage is more important than a car pymt. !!

I feel the same way. I was let go in 8/22 and I will never buy another. Not with the way they treat their employees who they had the nerve to call "family". And yes, of course, other companies are having layoffs, but the way Ford goes about it is heartless and unusually cruel....I should know.

Let's hope he finds something better. But GM and Chrysler, not to mention Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc are all doing, or have recently done, the same thing.

People post this stuff as if every single other company isn't doing the exact same thing. The hollowing out of the middle class has been happening for decades in this country, and it's going to keep happening until we all collectively don't take it any more.

In France they tried to raise the retirement age by 2 years, and they were all literally out in the streets protesting. Until we do that in the US, this will keep happening. It's not just Ford, not even close.

"Hopefully you won't buy one on the last day either!" You need to find a market outside US!
I did leave Ford in 2008! Keep your sh-t job !
