Thread regarding Ford layoffs

laid off today

I was notified today by a manager that I had been laid off. The manager just read a script and said sorry, etc. During the meeting, he asked for my personal email and phone number to send the lay off package with all the information.

The private meeting was sent early in the morning, after that, I know that I will be canned.

For those who are interested, the severance package is exactly the same as last year. You get 9 month pay if you have 20+ years of experience. You will get fewer month pay if you have fewer years.

I'm sorry you you had to experience a layoff - I was ' separated ' last august. Take a few days to grieve, then regroup, update your resume and move on. It's heartbreaking so many good people are suffering based on the incompetence and stupidity of senior executives. Ford does not have leaders, they are frauds and one day will suffer. Rest assured, there are incredible opportunities - and you will thrive. To he-l with Ford, disgrace on Bill Ford and the greed of the Ford family, to he-l with Farley, a pathetic shell of a man and the rest of the pigs that have destroyed what was a good decent company.

I'm going to park my Ford(s) at WHQ on lawn with sign in window "terminated by Ford" cant afford to pay FMCC. Mortgage more important.

Buy a beater and get another job..

Same here, laid off after 25 years. 9 months severance, 9 months health insurance, have to return company car by Friday, and A plan eligible for 3 years.

Prayers with you! Sad new! "With every hardship there is ease". GM's package is more respectful than that of Ford! For every year, they gave a month's pay! Talk about kicking a person while they are on the ground! Not getting any better!
