Does anyone know if Michigan’s WARN Act is applicable to this week’s layoffs? If laying off 500 or more workers they are supposed to let you know 6 months in advance. Perhaps that’s one of the rights they are so anxious to get you to waive by making the benefits conditional on signing the waiver…

WARN requires 60 calendar days' written notice. While an employer who pays workers for 60 calendar days instead of giving them proper notice technically has violated WARN, pay in place of notice is the same amount as the penalty specified in the Act.

No. It has to be 500 from a single facility.
