Thread regarding Ford layoffs

HMI decimated

I was let go Aug 2022. Today the manager that read me the script from HMI was let go. 12 people from my old group were let go. Designers from studio. HMI is dead.

Yeah.. I see bunch of posts now from colleagues worked at Ford. So what is Ford's plan? Just use GAS like Volvo does? I mean can't go wrong with that direction.

I'm sure this clears the way for Doug to reshape it in his image.

Human Machine Interaction I believe. Designing controls so owner naturally feels at one with the vehicle.

Not familiar with the Ford HMI group but I dated a human factors engineer at GM. She go laid off and ended out designing the interior of the M1A1 tank in Sterling Heights to get more ki-ls, make the tank less nauseous for the driver when they sealed it up and had to drive by cameras.
