Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Don't get cut. There are no jobs out here. Except for the fake job postings.

Hopefully most of us can figure out a way to retire. Even if a job is found, chances are it will be worse than Ford.

My experience was that there are a lot of fake job postings. Anything posted just assume is fake. Almost every listing I applied to either I never heard back from it got a form email about it being reviewed. Followed by another one a week or two later saying either they were moving on with other candidates or that the position was no longer available or being filled.

99% of the actual interviews I got were positions applied to through a recruiter. Work with as might recruiters as will have you!

I started in April and it was the only job I that I applied for. I'll agree, you have to be able to filter through the fake jobs but that's fairly easy to sort through. You might have to go outside of your comfort zone, but you were a newbie when you started your current job, you should be able to transition well to a new one.

@jmc+1nkYoHdd here.

I meant to say:

"There ARE jobs out there. It's just, depending on your pay level and how long you've been at Ford, those jobs may not be as lucrative pay/benefits-wise (and you might have to RTO).

So many things are wrong and tone deaf about this post:

  1. How can someone not get cut? It's called INVOLUNTARY separation because the employee has no say in the decision to be cut.
  1. There ARE jobs out there. It's just, depending on you pay level and how long you've been in Ford, it may be a slucrative pay/benefits-wise (ans you might have to RTO).
  1. A ton of younger employees who will be laid off are not able to "figure out a way to retire," because they're nowhere near the required age.

I know you're trying to be helpful OP and may have meant well, buy sometimes, less is more if you're going to post nonsense.

Just because it is on the internet don't mean it is true, if a job has been posted for more than 6 months chances are it is fake.

@ych How long ago did you start your new job?

To anyone that down voted this post: when was last time you applied for a new job?
20 years ago? 30 years ago?

Speaking from experience, there are jobs out there. Always keep your network active. I'm not getting paid as well but much happier and I like the work and people. My wife says I'm in a much better mood too. It seems we all have a love/hate relationship with Ford.
