Thread regarding Ford layoffs

From a Dream to a Nightmare!

Ford Blue was all I knew growing up and it was an dream when I landed a job as a Ford Engineer. But throughout the years that dream slowly turning into nightmare. Workload increasing without proper training. Engineers is about team work to finalize projects, but lack of communication and support kept people from performing quality work. "Every individual for themselves" or "man eat man world". Leadership is all about cost rather engineering. Company lost its vision of becoming an automotive firm. The irony of buying the train station, is that there is no light in the end of the tunnel and pure darkness and bankruptcy!

I was third Gen employee at Ford as well. 32 years and I got the boot last August. In hind sight I probably would have retired because the one lump pension pay out was going to drop this year. Over the years in my position I saved the company many times over my salary. But that didn’t matter

I feel ya. 3rd generation proud Ford employee until last August. All I drove was Ford. I'd defend the company against all detractors. Some even from within.

But that all changed when they laid me off, a longtime, multi TA employee. Treating "family" like that is indefensible. I'm now a detractor of Ford. They erased 65+ years of family history with one decision. I drive imports now. I'll never don a single item with a blue oval on it ever again.

Ford is dead to me.
