@jom+1nkn8OU6 this is foolish. There are some things you can’t outsource, especially when you’re delivering a physical product.
Given that the UAW is keeping plants in the US, there will always be a need for engineering in the US (manufacturing engineering at the very least). Now, JF may or may not realize that…
on launch teams, lots of on-the-ground coordination is done by salaried engineers. also true for ongoing production — quality and VO positions for example.
I think you’d be surprised by the amount of ford’s vehicle production (especially during launch phases) that relies on the salaried workforce being physically at plants….
Lol to the last poster. You're living in dream land.
The only NA based workers they need are the ones that run the off shore teams. You're little walk out would only serve to hasten the move of jobs to LCCs.
My experience is after the last round of layoffs, my team ended up relying on the NA based employees even more heavily to cover the in-person work that the outsourced labor couldn’t do…they need their remaining NA-based employees more than ever to keep launches running.
So, hypothetically, even with all the outsourced work, a NA-based white collar walk-out would be very effective when timed to affect a launch….
Well if you are suggesting a white coller walk out better do it before many of the jobs are moved overseas!
