Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Letters going out on Friday, June 30

I was told letters will be going out on Friday to all that are impacted by RTO. You will have until July 29 to give your intent to move or not. Very few exceptions based on if you are working on a sensitive project or not. It's a shame that after 20+ years, people are so disposable to AT&T.

I got a letter today with my current location and a September date. It came directly to me and my boss and their boss were copied. We had been told this would be our status and not kept in the dark. But it is a relief to have it in writing. Arnoldo organization.

Good luck getting your letters on the 30th. Our letters were released at 11am and we didn’t get them until 7.30pm. If I were you I wouldn’t hold my breath for Friday delivery.

The way I was understanding it, at least for my org, is that we will receive our designation by 6/30 meaning I will find out if I am back to the office or virtual. Then sometime mid-July where my location hub will be. I am not sure on the timing to accept, move etc.

My letter stated that “As opportunities arise, roles like yours will be backfilled in the hub location and within the next 18-24 months, you may receive official notification of the movement of your job to its long-term hub. Once in your long-term location your workplace designation will be xx.

As we get closer to your job move date, you will receive more formal notification of the change. We hope at that time you will choose to follow the job; if not, you may be eligible for severance according to the terms of the AT&T Severance plans. The timing of any severance will be determined at a later date.

We anticipate offering relocation assistance only in extremely limited cases, so this move will likely be at your own expense.”

"I give the Legg org credit for getting their info / plans out weeks ago and being forthcoming and transparent about their plans."

Too true. My supervisor still won't tell me anything. No information shared by my department. Whatever their plans, they are keeping us in the dark until the last possible minute.

OP, not entirely accurate and why do think what applies to your org applies to the entire company? Many have received their letter already. As for responding to a relo by 7/29 that also may not be correct if the employee is in ATS (Legg). They were told (and it is in their FAQ) they will receive their official relo letter later this summer and have to give their intent shortly after. As their FAQ states the info they gave weeks ago about which cities they will be in was your notice to start thinking about a relo so that when presented with it you will have already been thinking about it.

I give the Legg org credit for getting their info / plans out weeks ago and being forthcoming and transparent about their plans.

I'm in NetOps, under Anthony. Got an email sent to all L2 & higher supervisors (directors, avp, etc.) Official notification on my new office location and occupancy indicator will be released 6/30. New occupancy indicator guidelines are already visible on HROneStop, and effective 7/01.

I know nothing about any 7/29 deadline though. That's new information, if true. But all departments have customized their plans, so may not apply to everyone.

Told by whom? What level manager, what org (without giving away identities)?

It’s always been this way. You should know this after 20 years.
