Ford is an anti-American car company, at least if you are talking about the USA.
If after all this you're still thinking about buying an American vehicle AT ALL, then that's ridiculous. Start paying attention to the make when you see a car broken down on the side of the road -- It's not a Honda or Toyota, I'll tell you that.
I second chosing Honda. They tend to have great powertrains. My Honda Civic in college made it to 400k miles. As soon as I was let go I brought a Honda Odyssey from Tamaroff.
I have owned 3 cars in 38 years so far. The first one was a Buick which was a lemon and lasted only 5 years. My second and third are Honda which I still have them today. Will never buy anything else but Honda. So easy to maintain myself without have to take them to the dealer or mechanics.
Police departments are now avoiding Ford.
We were almost ready to buy a new car. Verry happy we did not. Now we can buy anything we want. I promise never a Ford car ever...
I get not ever buying a Ford again, but a Jeep? LOL. You've either never driven one, or just enjoy the pain of "It's a Jeep thing". Yep, I really don't understand.
I brought a Honda. My neighbor's Jeep transmission failed, she brought a Passport.

When Ford spun me off to visteon back in the day, I happily bought Chryslers for years afterwards.
I used to work for GM and can’t wait to get my first 4-door Jeep Wrangler. Way prettier that the UGLY new Bronco I see on the streets. Beep beep!

You can call FCA Stellantis garbage if you want, but I am 200% more satisfied with their van than my Fords which self destructed at 125k. And Dodge/Chrysler is topping quality charts again. I’m not anti Ford but don’t say competitors are worse. They aren’t.
Ford has more recalls than Jeep.
