Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Folks need to stop saying they wish they were laid off

There are some thoughts you don't need to share with everybody. Keep them to yourself. Such comments might be fine between layoffs, but when so many people have been freshly cut and would give anything to still have a job, you sound like an insensitive jerk when you bemoan about still being employed.

The job market is brighter than you think (at least for mechE's), I got SIRP'd last August, had a job with higher salary and 35hr weeks within a month...

Recruiters are still blowing up my email with positions

Being layed off was the best thing that couple of happened, things have been a cluster from what I've heard from what my former team has told me

@OP -
Exactly, as I have posted before, just because companies have job postings doesn't mean they are hiring. Yes, FAKE postings, even recruiters agree with me. I have had management from other companies explain to me why there are fake postings.

There are a lot less jobs then appear. Also, there are a lot of places that are a lot worse than Ford. We hear people on this board all the time stating they got a better job, but never about the people that in worse job than Ford.

Someone wishing they got cut, should just quit, instead of being a foolish insensitive jerk.
