Leaving for a competitor

Do you still get “walked out” or let go immediately if you submit a resignation and let them know you’re leaving for a competitor?

No. Turned in my 2 weeks notice to go to a competitor and still had full access to everything until i turned in my laptop on my last day.

Be smart man. Why you want to mention competitor , for revenge ? Just say for better opportunity. That’s it. Lol. If being chased , say I want to explore something new like financial advisor. Etc

Give a 6 week notice that you're leaving for a competitor. Profit.

Yes, I did this recently. You have to say you can work your remaining two weeks so they will pay you for it. But they will make you leave that day.

It depends. Normally you would be walked out immediately, and I've seen it happen to several people. However, in one case the guy who was leaving for a competitor was a favorite of our manager, so instead of being walked out the manager spent a couple weeks trying to convince him to stay (which he did, after being promised a promotion). This kind of favoritism is what angers a lot of people at Ford.

You get walked out within 30 minutes of announcing you are leaving to go work for a competitor. Your access to company systems is revoked immediately.
