Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

If you were fired by BNY (uk) would it affect your reference?

Could you still put on CV? Or is it fine to keep on (do HR just give the dates?) . Also what’s the process with possible pay? Should you resign before being fired or let them fire!

That’s uncertain, but it’s a hundred and 10 percent sure hat you will be lying about your career and any (quite unlikely) promotions.

So you can lie about promotions? Or did I read that wrong

You can put anything that you like on your C.V. HR doesn’t own you nor do they care about your C.V. You ought to make an attempt at listing accurate date ranges for positions and promotions for telling your story.

If you’re accurate you’re good.

Well, as we’re talking U.K. there are likely laws that prevent any information whatsoever to be shared. If you’re looking for no stress lifetime employment with employee’s rights dominating banks you just gotta be in the U.K.

What money would you be entitled to be if fired? Just Unemployment benefits?

Of course let them fire, you get money on the way out.

I've been told that HR will only confirm dates for reference requests. Nothing else. No performance comments, no position, no reasons, all due to liability.
