AT&T DIES NOT AGREE WITH APPLE

AT&T's new networking chief, Jeremy Legg, argued that Apple may need to shift to an edge computing model for its augmented and virtual reality strategy at some point in order to provide such services in a mobile – rather than stationary – environment

Edge computing is a pipe dream. For some reason, ATT thinks you need computing at the CO. Apple and Netflix already have CDM equipment local. In Atlanta - most likely in Tucker. Ping time is 7-8 ms on a 50mg uverse connection. 4-5 with fiber. Like others have stated Apple has its own cloud and also uses Amazon's cloud.

Instead of focusing on fiber and cell service, ATT tries to make up dreams. ATT no longer invents anything - it has no R&D. Its solely dependent on vendors for new products and services.

Even if edge computing was wanted by others, ATT would drop the ball. Best bet would be to just lease space to Amazon , MS, and Google.

In my multiple dealings over these years between these 2 companies, Apple is always right and ATT wrong. Perhaps ATT was right once or twice, but they are unable to execute so it matters not.

“AT&T DIES”

Looks like a Freudian slip.

Jeremy Legg can shut the fu-k up. Worst part about owning a Tesla is that it's bound to this piece of sh-t carrier. The last thing we need is another piece of hardware tethered to AT&T.

No thanks. They can kindly go pound sand. Loke watches, carrier choice should be left up to the consumer.

As most posters responded, Apple has much more clout than AT&T!

I am sure Apple is all ears when it comes to strategic vision critiques from AT&T.

Like Apple, a company worth almost $ 3 trillion, is going to listen to anything AT&T, a failed company with over $130 billion in debt they caused by horrible leadership and horrible business practices has to say?
I'm laughing so hard I'm about to wet myself.

Another ‘social media influencer’ posting cr-p for clicks to generate ad revenue. Afterall, this site is a dot com, not a dot org like Craiglist. I’m done with this site.

What exactly does this have to do with Layoffs at AT&T? Stay on topic, or go post elsewhere

Seeing the way this company is run, I’m betting that Apple is going to ignore any advice that the buffoons from T give them.
