This isn't worth it at all.
Constantly worrying if I am going to be next and even if I work my a$$ off there is no guarantee ill be spared next time.
I just had a baby and this isn't the life I want to give my child.

Wow, the trolls are showing up en force.
This is NOT normal, it hasn’t “always been this way”.
The SIRP paperwork has much more draconian conditions like never working for Ford again, even through contract, and loss of a plan privileges. There’s a huge difference in the recent rounds. It used to be that they offered voluntary buyouts before doing this. And allowed people to either stay until they retired, or gave them up to 2 year bridging packages.
Are you new to ford? This is the new normal. Prior to 2019 there was some deference given to rank and file feelings or care etc. but now I don’t think they care about the worker. I think they will adjust to suit the business and they will be ruthless.
If you have to be rude and troll people on a site like this, especially those that admit they are suffering in some way, your life is pretty d—n pathetic.
But karma works in wonderful ways, especially to ah0les
Al Pachino had a baby at the age of 83! So as far as we can tell, you could be well over 60 with full pension parachute so spare us the s-b story.
When I was a kid back in the 70s, the car companies would lay people off about every 2 years. But back then, when sales got better, they would call people back.
Now, the layoffs are permanent. I don’t get that.
Quit and work elsewhere this is the nature of automotive industry.
