Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Realizing that I haven't learned much here since joining

Took the job here out of desperation and now am coming to regret it since I am stuck in a place where I either get laid off eventually or I have to fabricate my resume.

This is what happens I guess when you work with people who don't know how to use Git

Exactly @pcg+1nmf7pU5. 20 years at Ford, never sent to a class or trained. I read manuals cover to cover, experimented and learned. I always had a line around my desk of people wanting either for me to do their job for them or help them. There are people in the group who prefer to sit and do nothing because Ford never sent them to an offsite class to be trained. And sit they have for 20 years. Management keeps bringing in purchased services to do the work the bumps on a log are being paid to do. Management brought in a consultant to sit with the bumps for six months and train them. After the consultant left they claimed they were never trained, in comes the consultant again for 6 months with same results.
But guess who got cut? It wasn’t the bumps on a log. It was the person who trained themselves and helped others do their jobs.
Thats Ford for you.

If you're not learning you need to become more curious. I've worked in terrible companies and still managed to learn a lot because I used my free time to get better in software suites I didn't even need for my job.

@vxg+1nmf7pU5 my entire resume was fabricated. But I did go onsite and have an actual coding problem there so. There's that too.

and I got converted to full time because despite having a completely fake resume.
I actually had the skills and more.

App had a problem and my code was literally holding the damn thing together for a good 1-3 years no joke. App would not build without a script I made.

A script which is in a completely different programming language than what was ever mentioned in the job descriptions.

what does that tell you?
It means there is a huge flaw in the hiring system.

I never would have gotten an interview had I not completely faked everything in my resume.

People like you who fabricated your resumes are the major reason why this place has become a mess!!!
