Heard about U.S. call centers from an insider

I know someone who's been fighting to try to keep the dwindling call centers open in the states, but they told me ultimately they were over-ruled. They've got so small recently that the overhead on the buildings just isn't worth it. I wanted to pass this on early so you can start looking and not get blindsided and have something lined up. I think there's only a few left - he said something about Missouri.

I've seen multiple physical call centers close in the US over the last 4 years. What about the thousands of reps we moved/hired to WFH, along with their team mgrs, area mgrs and directors? Will these reps be impacted? Will their managers continue to WFH or do they have to move to a hub?

All the work is being outsourced to places like Slovakia and Mexico City… it’s a shame.

Mesa, AZ still has a call center and it's still hiring reps to work the phones. New training classes are being held all the time for the new candidates! Go figure!

I am actually shocked we still have domestic call centers. Should have been offshored a decade ago or more.

That’s probably the call center that was moved from the old Western Electric building in the suburbs of KC to another location closer to downtown. It was/is a call center full of Legacy T employees.
