Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO massive failure of leadership

This entire RTO initiative is a massive failure on the part of senior leadership. When you have manager and directors telling you that even at the AVP level that have absolutely no forewarning or involvement in this and we’re left in the dark it’s clear Stanley and his cohorts are clueless.

Now we have entire orgs trying to figure out whose going where, whose doing what and how can we function when half of our people will refuse to go along. No information, zero communication. Even today managers are saying they were told their employees would their their workplace designation letter today…they have seen or heard nothing. It’s a disgrace

Everything at this company is a failure of leadership, not just RTO.

Old Stankey is d-mber than Brandon. Neither has a clue as to how to lead and both stumble around in a daze

Look, reducing headcount and real estate is the big driver for this. There may be some bottom line benefit from RTO but who knows and it certainly won’t magically turn the company into some nimble startup environment. It will make leadership feel like they’re ‘doing something’ and regained the upper hand on workers. Even if it fails they will call it a success because what else can they do?

The rigidity on locations will make it harder for people outside of Dallas to progress and move to different roles.

RTO is a pain and money/time suck, but the layoffs and the lack of opportunities are the biggest reason why I’m looking outside. You should always be ready to look and occasionally apply out even when things are going well. It keeps you sharp and you never know what you’ll find.

Letters came out today with more confusing information. My team is spread in centers across US. Their letters state that their designated office whatever was in the company directory which are cities NOT defined. Even better was one was a IBM location. Some people’s letters were clearly copied and pasted with beginnings of sentences missing. This company is an embarrassment

Just be patient, it will come together. If RTO doesn't work for your life once you have details, than look for new opportunities.

The sad part is, they think RTO is the magic bullet and when everyone is working face to face the company is going to succeed. As if that is the reason why we are in such bad shape and has nothing to do with all the poor decisions over the past 10 years. When RTO is in full swing and it doesn’t magically increase the stock price, then what?

We received our letter for RTO in Atlanta and Dallas for 7/10.

Was pretty clear to us. Everyone in ATL & Dallas
has their letters and those who didn’t get are outside the core locations or will have to relocate.
These letters will be sent via email on 7/31/23.

Time to return to the office and actually work. Enough personal time.

OP,
This is why they are doing it in "waves" to avoid a mass exodus. Meanwhile you are still a hostage. Stankey and his minions give a rats behind how they impact the hamsters that keeps the wheel running. All they care about is themselves, greed and personal gain.

Sounds like you have entered a different station of life. It’s time for you to go.
