Yeah, it's because of "Woke BS" and focus on "pride month and whatever else..." eye roll, That is a super biased person having to blame all their problems on that. I think they do a bunch of other focus areas IBM has on employees that you don't mention because it does not insult you somehow...

IBM recently dismissed a friend of mine with 20 years on and gave him 1 weeks severance.

"Woke BS" it's people like you that cause these companies to have to create those types of programs. Be mad at yourself. Thanks!!
Look up "Woke" in the dictionary - it means that someone is informed, educated and conscious of social injustice and racial inequality, Merriam-Webster Dictionary states.
If you say "Woke" is BS I would have to say you are not informed or educated and leading the call for inequality. What are you Right Wing Conservatives afraid of?

When companies spend more time on REI, pride month and whatever else month they keep celebrating they're taking their eye off the ball.
How many teams keep sending emails out for nonsense woke BS?

Unfortunately with the stupid reorg directed by Rob Thomas for the global markets a couple d years ago, many talented people in the National Market with either leave IBM on their own or get put on PIPs and later RAed.

Agreed re National Market:

Goals and quotas are unattainable based on past spends that no longer happen.

Y over Y growth does not equate to unrealistic budgetary numbers!!!!

A lot of bloat in technology sales management, executives, and overlay teams as well. National market reps are frustrated with unrealistic quotas for accounts where IBM spend is minimal.

Agree a lot of bloat in tech sales including management. Lots of training provided to early professional hires who just rely on experienced professionals for help. Saw lots of this firsthand. I left on my own growing tired of all the bs.

There’s a lot of bloat in tech sales. They hire so many people to manage/create training and the infrastructure for that too. There’s also a lot of people who after being trained just sit there claiming to not know anything or get allocated to valueless roles where they pretend to work. RA/PIPs were inevitable.

I am also hearing about PIPs for technology sales. Amazing they will end up spending almost 5 billion in cash for Apptio yet continue to layoff people or put them on a PIP which is pretty much the kiss of death for your career at IBM. Meanwhile the young early professional hires get all the the training and recognition for their superb performance (being sarcastic here).
