I've had HR call me more times than you can imagine, begging me to PROMOTE URMs whom I was being gracious by not giving them a BE. The conversations bordered on the ridiculous.

Or flying URMs to special leadership classes just for URMs.

And don't get me started on being asked to go ahead and make a permanent position offer to a freshman intern at the conclusion of their first successful-ish internship.

Any smart engineer or data scientist will tell you how stupid keying on a single variable like skin color is. Life tends to be a bit more complicated then single variables. Reverse discrimination never works. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Good, we now need diversity goals for white males, possibly reparations too for all the discrimination we have suffered over the past 50 years.

Good.
Any discrimination, regardless of the justification, should not be tolerated.
