Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Fall gu?

Am I the fall guy?

It just dawned on me what happened. For the past several years, my managers have refused to listen to my warnings about problems (in my area of expertise, of course). I’ve told them how to avoid the problems and how to fix them. Right out of books on the subject. I thought, they would not respect these ideas if they think they come from me, so I always had an “authority” to back me up.
But the ideas I brought to them were all dismissed.
So now they are failing miserably in this area. All sorts of problems and I know this topic is getting visibility of with senior management.
The “solution”? Blame everything on the engineer, fire him, and get a new one.
The senior management is too blind to see that the company’s REAL problem is their LL4 and LL5.

Can employ personal outsourcing as a coping strategy.

If you can’t identify the scapegoat in a Ford meeting / Ford team, it is you.

First step in problem-solving at Ford. Allocate blame.

As long as things not looking terribly too bad and can be blamed to someone else, I don't think these management , LL6, LL5 and LL4 ... really care about Ford, because they are either already 30 years or close to, they are just waiting for their retirement day to come and take the their pension.

Just think about this one, a plant manager changed every year in 5 years, every one could use different management skills and different team, brought in their own people from other plant.... What do you expect? That's Ford

Things like this probably happening everywhere at Ford

@OP,

Yes, I have experienced the same thing happen to me. I had PROOF of millions of dollars being wasted: the root cause, and a sound solution. I to was dismissed away and told to stick the useless dog and pony show meetings. Now I am unemployed. They WANT things to fail in Dearborn so the transfer of jobs out of the USA is justified. One consolation is that after everything is moved out of USA Ford will still fail.

Some LL6 should be included with LL4 and 5!

You need a degree from WC Fields School of Management if you want to rise to the top at Ford. "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS". AH YES MY LITTLE CHICKADEE! LMAO!
