Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I checked with my supervisor and they don't know anything

I checked another level up and they don't know anything. One more level up and they don't know anything. No one knows anything other than to tell you to check with someone who doesn't know anything. Almost like a typical workday in the ATT Office where no one knows anything.

They know and they are not saying…they are in self preservation mode. Nothing this big would stay this quiet.

ABSOLUTELY FALSE! Depending on the level, most managers are in the dark, just like you. The higher the level, the more they were likely involved in parts of the proposals sent up to the EVPs. But until those in the Glass Towers make their decisions, everything is speculation.

Most important reason: avoid T

Their management leadership are running the business to protect their own financial interests and their own personal futures ONLY!

Same as @ srs+1nqO2hPJ. They know. They’re not saying it. It’s clear cut. If you are not in Dallas or Atlanta, you will have until 2024/2025 to relocate on your own expense. Otherwise you can expect a severance, if you can wait that miserably long.

If you are in Dallas or Atlanta, you’ll start badging in 3 times a week or eventually get terminated

Textbook deception 101 here the three ways to distinguish motivations for deception at T.
1- Instrumental: to avoid punishment or to protect resources= wall street
2-Relational: to maintain relationships or bonds= the Randall effect, suckup to the boss.
3-Identity: to preserve "face" or the self-image= mostly to new hires, Gen Z
