There really aren’t that many jobs out there - the unemployment rate is much worse than what they’re reporting
Very few jobs posted, coworkers leaving constantly for the past 2 years, can’t hire talent, failed spineless leadership, tanked employee morale. It’s sad, but that was the plan all along.
If you are lending, WIM, audit, tech etc..look for a job no group will be untouched
Apply for what? There is nothing out there to apply for
Most recent layoffs have been contractors. Alot!
HR can only handle so much displacement, true, but the focus on what defines a "mass layoff" is missing the point. 500-1000 people are getting canned every month. If you're not in that group or it hasn't majorly impacted your specific team, maybe it seems like it's not a big deal from your perspective. If you just got laid off along with most of your peers it looks a little different. It's not my group but I have friends that were part of a group that had roughly 85 people, one day in May it went down to about 25. Now maybe to some 60 people getting canned from one team at one location is not a "mass layoff", but for that group it was a merciless sla-ghter.
Chainsaw will continue to hack away until we hit the arbitrary magic number. Whether it's "mass" or death by a thousand cuts, who really cares. He's coming for all of us either way.

Wake me up when mass layoffs actually happen.
No, it’s more like saying the sky is falling because a Walnut fell on your head.
Please be me. Please.
Aug will be rough. I work in an area where displacements are discussed regularly as part of info sec, etc. Aug has been mentioned repeatedly for the past several months. No other details.
Yawn.
It’s like yelling “fire” but zero info where the supposed fire actually is.
Fake news.
Just because layoffs have been under capacity (if true), doesn't mean HR can magically exceed capacity.
August is going to be a blood-bath across the "firm". Review the Quarterly numbers, HR has only been laying off about half of their 2K per month capacity. August will be at full capacity and then some.
Please be more specific.
You'll need to spill more than that to be credible. LOB? HR can only handle so many displacements at a time. What kind of #s are we looking at?
