@plj+1nqkU3Df.. what has the union done recently?
@qjc+1nqkU3Df has the answer... Waste valuable resources!
T&Ms are hourly employees. If you are working more than 40 hours and your time is not being approved, you need to contact the fieldglass admins and/or your contracting company. If you are an SOW, I guess you are SOL. Find another gig. If Vz is sponsoring your employment (H1B), then that is a known risk you take.
As far as IT eliminating contractors, yes, they've been working on that for awhile. But the hiring in VDSI is out of this world to make up for it.
and please always remember the unions no layoff clause! Come join us!!!
+ pension
+ retirement benefits
++ laughing all the way to the bank.
This is not an union, labor/craft job.
Always, remember that the unions brought you the weekends and the 40-hours for a work week.
Be thankful you have a job and hopefully with benefits.
Like also mentioned this is the new normal.
Take it or leave it.
Verizon reducing contractor staff and specifically IT contractors at the three (3) major IT hubs.
Phased and incremental, starting at the end of this month, all contractors to be released as soon as possible or by the end of this year.
You are not the only one. Leave and find another job. If within IT then this is the new normal.
Rewritten: Don’t work at Verizon. The job pressures for an employee at Verizon result in a lot of stress thus, doing the job of more than one-person. Verizon is increasingly hiring of employees in India, Verizon's hub, VDSI.
The job stress for Verizon contractors are extremely high.
Unknown, these are all IT jobs???
Welcome to the members-only club!!!!
IT, Information Technology, is your skill set??
Please narrate more clearer and delineate the circumstances.
Note: Verizon is no longer, helping to convert, non-resident individuals, for a permanent US green-card. I am so happy for this decision!!!! So late in coming at Verizon!!!!! Hooray!!!!
Therefore, assuming, that you want to seek permanent residency by switching, from a contractor to being a full-time Verizon employee, then Verizon will not help you nor anyone else.
Sorry, so as a current US H-1B visa status holder then Verizon will no longer sponsor for future permanent residency.
Assumption, is that you are not a Verizon employee. Sadly, that is the life of contractor working at Verizon. Sorry, but continue as-is or leave? Why, then do you continue to work as a contractor at Verizon?
English, do you speak it?
