Thread regarding Ford layoffs

When should we expect the next round of layoffs to be?

I want to have at least 1 to 2 other offers so Im prepared and not in the face with a surprise.

Low performers? I received Top/High achiever the last 4 of 5 years. I was cut because most of the positions in my group were sent to Mexico and Brazil. I know many others let go even though they were asked to join new programs because of their expertise. It will be interesting to see how groups continue to work without the data, programs and contacts these people had when they were let go.

Just more word-vomit from DF. He is like a toddler moving peas around on his plate trying to fool his mommy that he is eating his vegetables.

“ eliminate low performers and unwanted skills first”
I wonder how they made these determinations. If “achiever” was considered a “low performer”, then they have adopted new meanings for common words.

Major reorganization under DF to be announced next week, will have impacts on LL6-LL3 under him. I also heard of voluntary offers over the summer but they wanted to eliminate low performers and unwanted skills first.

Look for a job NOW and if you get a decent offer, take it. 93K in the US have been laid off in tech since January, yet Ford thinks it will be a tech company. Ford is systematically exporting all of its jobs to India, Mexico and anywhere there is cheaper labor, get out while you can. If you have to look when the economy is even worse (it is not good now) you will be sorry you waited.

The job market sucks right now. I wish I had been laid off in August.

Offers? What are you going to do with them? It's not like you get to negotiate your departure. If you get an offer, take it. Don't wait to be shown the door.

Hey, OP you stupid fu---r, how many layoffs you have to go through before you get a clue. Unless you are one of the fortunate few still left with a pension make a plan to get out now - no prize given for being last off the Titanic or going down with the ship
