Please tell me that these are just malicious rumors about upcoming big redundancies. I'm really worried, but I still hope it won't come to that.

What is DCS enterprise ? When are cuts going to happen
Layoffs are coming and they will be big 20% WFR is what I am hearing with DCS in enterprise being hit hard - specialities also, if ur not in the core your at risk.
Dell needs to do this but being a longstanding employee its just the nature of the beast - leadership always get the big decisions right as hard as it may be the world is crumbling around us it would be incredibly stupid for Dell to not take action……. However we all know 12 months down the line growth will be on the agenda and it will be hire hire hire.

Cuts in early August
I’ve been at Dell a long time, they always trim the fat in situations like this….. it is what it is. As another person mentioned, save your money so it isn’t the end of the world if you get cut. Most people I know that were let go end up in a better job. It might take some longer than others but none of them end up working in fast food.
Dell has for the last 4-5 years laid off staff every 6mths July/August and Dec/Jan.
Your employment with Dell is merely a 6mth contract that gets extended if you don't get shot every 6mths. There is no future with this company, its continually reducing staff and headcount, it has no vision or strategy of the future. Embrace it or do yourself a favour and get a better job with another vendor that supports its staff and has security, because there is none at Dell.
Rumours this month are 100% redundanices are coming, just a matter of what % are getting dragged out the back and gutted like squealing pigs.

A big push online would lead me to think that plans are in place to reduce numbers if not now at least in the long term.
While rumours are running riot nothing has been confirmed and is at best pure guess work.
Does anyone have any idea of what date these cuts will start or decent information?
At one stage June was mentioned but nothing came of that at least in EMEA.
Since sales are down one would expect sales people to be cut as this is realistically the fastest way to trim overheads.
In CSG there has been talk about product streamlining in meetings as well as re-orgs ongoing.

There was no mention of "hard choices" in the all hands last week so no layoffs in ISG :-)
Why are you worried? If it's because you are in a precarious financial position and can't afford to lose your job then do yourself a big favor and right that wrong as soon as you can. I know it is easier said than done but it also not impossible.

I’m not an ex Dell employee. I currently work at Dell and report to an executive so I have seen the proof and layoffs are coming. I’m just not sure if it will be at the end of July or early August. I’m guessing both since Dell lays off people slowly and quietly.

Job cuts may happen or they may not but rumours are still running riot and people come here to vent.
