Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Doing nothing but your own job

There are probably a lot of us here doing a lot more than we signed up for because Verizon is putting tremendous pressure on employees. I'm interested in how some still manage to stand up for themselves and do only their own work? I think if I tried to do that, the manager would quickly find a way to make my life here unbearable.

It's very easy once they threaten my job. I make it very clear verizon will not help them once we are outside these 4 walls and that's 4 life....

The choices long term are risk being fired or quit. Short term no working extra may force your manager to find a more willing target in your coworkers.

Even if you do everything they could still make yiur job miserable like has happened in mine a few times. Just recently had another job change and it was I’ll be doing x/y/z instead of the work I was doing and if I don’t like it I can quit. I’ll probably still need to do my old job too just will be less a priority and if I don’t like it quit or wait till I’m fired.

Foremost, be thankful you have a job and employee benefits. If not happy nor content then find another job.
