we had no budget money for promotions this year, at least that is what we were told. Is that a lie?
Exactly what @4dnl+1ntJbYs3 said, people are upset because it’s more blatant than ever that the people getting promoted aren’t the guys working hard and staying late to do good for the business. The people getting promoted are the ones goofing off all day but spending their ample free time kissing the right a$$es until they get moved up the chain. I legit can’t remember the last time my org promoted someone who actually deserved it. VPs are endlessly cycled in from other orgs who have no clue what our org does and is just here to camp for 3 years til their next guaranteed promotion from their buddies.

You only promote the guys you like
The guys that actually work hard and work long hours get nowhere
The brownnoses who su-k up to senior leaders get promoted FAST
Shambles and shame on you bells
Place is a dump. Tell Dell is nonsense. Layoffs on the way and confirmed. VPs + do very well eith their enormous salaries and benefits....whilst the rest starve professionally and have their careers damaged. Let them eat cake comes to mind

so, I'm in US but our management team is in India, so ya, that stinks. Bad scores.
Our manager didnt need to ask us to write or say anything, he just said to make sure we do it. He would have gotten great feedback and scores. We are fortunate.
People leave companies because of bad managers. The fact that the org even does this yearly inspection shows they get that.
my cybersecurity manager told me "you better give me good scores"...lol nope...
I'm Ex EMC/Dell employee, as of last Feb 2023. My manager always called me and told me he needed all 9's or 10's on the survey. The survey is fake.

Doubtful, Tell me 2 things they improved from the dismal results from last year? Its a complete waste of time, i dont know why they bother with it! When it gets BAD enough (like it isn't already) they will just stop it.
No one cares about the results, we want to layoff 10%
